Little Lover of the West

I noticed Joshua had been quiet for a while - time to investigate! I found him reading my Sunset Magazine. Of course :)

Quote of the Day

Noah, while swinging yesterday, was looking intently up into the sky. She said, "Hi Jesus! ...He's up in heaven. ...I can see His feet!" And then dissolved into giggles.

Happy Anniversary!

We celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary on Sunday. Life is absolutely delightful. How I love that man.

The view is from Father Serra Cross, overlooking Ventura and Oxnard. Mike's mom and sister watched the kiddos while we had a yummy dinner at Mimi's Cafe, followed by a jaunt to Pier One to look at all the holiday stuff, of course!

McGrath Farm Pumpkin Patch

My most favorite time of the year :) Noah picked us each a baby sized pumpkin - and two extra for "Nana and Kalea."

Growing chicks

Those girls are getting big! It will still be a couple of months before we get eggs, but they sure are neat little critters (and poop A LOT too). Kuly (right side of first photo), Sally, Lucy, and Blackie.

Let's put the lonely in families :)

I was telling Noah that there are many little boys and girls without mommies or daddies. Her eyes lit up and with excitement said, "I know! Let's go and save them! They can come in and be part of our family!" My thought exactly, little girl :)

Bass Lake

We had a wonderful vacation up at Bass Lake. Wouldn't you know it, we ALL forgot our cameras! Thankful for point-and-shoots (haha, but the quality looks a bit 1980s). A hundred "thanks" for bringing us up Cindy!

Building the coop!

Mike and wonderful Frank (aka Dad) built a coop for the chicks last week! I love the first photo, three generations of Becchios building. Mike got to learn some neat tricks from a seasoned carpenter, Joshua got to climb around in the unfinished coop, and Noah and I have a much easier time of keeping up the chicks - which are now almost chicken sized. Kuly actually started clucking the other day. Sally (the smart one, my favorite of course) has started nesting in her nesting box. No eggs for a few months yet, but lots of fun watching their silly actions.

Baby "saftey"

Yes, this is Mike's idea of "playing safely" outside. Haha...

Happy birthday, little Joshua!

Yes, Joshua has just celebrated ONE full year :) Just on time, he's started taking stints of steps across the room (with grin from ear to ear, obviously so proud of himself). As if the one year mark was a magic milestone, he also has been burbling cute little jibberish phrases, pointing at things he wants (water, ribs), and asking for just a couple of those things by name (wah wah: water, dhat: that, dis: this, etc.).

Joshua's nicknames to date: J-man, The Blub, Dibbles, DEE-BLACE (said by Mike with a "Rocky" voice, a spin off of dibbles as it would be read if in Spanish... Spanish "Rocky" impressions... only Mike), Little Man, J-bug, and JJ.

These videos are from our wonderful little life group which surprised Joshua with a birthday party the day before his birthday. His real birthday was on the 6th. Thank you Mr. Stutzman for the quick iPhone :)

Ventura Harbor Holiday

So we pretended to go on vacation the other day. A fun trip to our very own Ventura Harbor for spur of the moment ice cream cones, and "chips" (fries) and ranch, and a late night run to Panda Express with the kids. Noah enjoyed the giant ice cream cone statue and "pirate" (a large pirate skeleton by a restaurant). Enjoy the fun shots of Noah and Mike I snapped with my phone.

Lessons from Daddy

While Noah and I were having lunch together today. Classic, just classic. For those of you who don't know, "toot" is what we call passing gas.

Noah: "...I toot all the time."
Me: "I wonder why?"
Noah: "Because my daddy taught me to do that... all the time..."

Introducing the Chicks!

We have some delightful new animals in the family. Sally, Lucy, and the black one (which actually belongs to the Reeves, but they haven't chosen a name yet) were joined by Kuly (the big one) and Kupa this Saturday.
