As I snuggled with Noah as she slept today, I rejoiced in the beauty of life. I'm so thankful to have such a happy, joy-filled family. Whatever we've ever needed, it has been so abundantly provided. I'm so thankful to my King for his kindness. I once heard someone say that God is 'relentlessly kind.' How true I have known that to be :)
Hurray! We just celebrated Mike's 22nd birthday, enjoying pizza with some close friends at Mi Amore's, in Lompoc, (Mike practically drinks their legendary ranch dip) and followed it up with a game of Trivial Pursuit (the kid's Junior Edition) in the garage at Cathy's house. I'm chagrined to say that we all were very stumped by a number of the questions! We did enjoy much laughter and good-natured teasing, however.
We've posted some photos of our family taken over the last month. Check them out by clicking the link to the left.
Highlights:
Noah is learning to laugh (which makes Mommy laugh until she cries). Laughter soon follows Daddy's monster-chomping-neck-tickles, simulated punching/kicking a little, mostly deflated balloon with G'ma Cathy, and airplane rides on my knees.
Teethy gums. Anything Noah can get into her mouth will satisfy her muncher. At this point, since her coordination is still low on the scale, that's not much. Favorite teether toys: Mom's knuckles, round rattle with hoops, pink plastic star, and, of course, Mr. Waddles, her favorite stuffed duck.
The Chupa-chupe Olympics. I've temporarily lost the leash to Noah's pacifiers (dubbed chupas -pronounced 'choo-pah' - by Mike). It's amazing how far she can propel that thing and how it can roll into the most disgusting corners. I've done more than my share of squats while wearing a fussy little Noah trying to search under furniture, in furniture, under the bed sheets - you name it!
